Serenity Home Organizers help you let go of clutter so you can feel at peace in your own home!

We're organizers who know it's not just about stuff. We think and feel a lot about those things, and mindset is critical when it comes to decluttering and organization.
And it helps to have an empathetic professional on your side—someone who gets it and won't pressure you, but will help facilitate the internal change you want to make... who can help move the stuff you're ready to let go!
Finally, organizing what's left is the icing on the cake, the fun part where you feel the reward for the hard work you've done!
Why "Serenity" Home Organizers?
Ever heard of the Serenity Prayer? Whether or not you're religious, it holds a lot of wisdom in how to think and act:
"God, grant me the serenity...
to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference."
In the 12-Step Program of Co-Dependents Anonymous (CoDA), members collectively compiled a list of "Codependent Behaviors" and their corresponding opposites, "Recovery Behaviors." It all comes down to what is unhealthy for you and/or others, versus what lifts you and others up.
There are 5 main categories of Codependent Behaviors: Denial, Low Self-Esteem, Compliance, Control, and Avoidance. Their corresponding Recovery Behavior categories (as summarized by Christine, not sanctioned by CoDA) are: Self-Awareness, Self-Love, Self-Respect, Cooperation, and Acceptance.
What if we applied this framework to home decluttering and organizing?
Below are some examples of attitudes, behaviors, and consequences of Codependent and Recovery Behaviors as they relate to relationships and our stuff. (They may not apply to everyone, as everyone is different.)
DENIAL
Restless, negative, not happy with anything.... If unhappy with a partner, I might intentionally take over their space. Un-blissfully unaware there's a problem with what I'm doing.
SELF-AWARENESS
Settled, loving, expanded... I'm accepting of what is (and that I can't change), and I'm able to face changing what I can.
LOW SELF-ESTEEM
Low-energy, fatigued, uncomfortable, depressed... I don't want to... even take up space. I hate my stuff, lack pleasure in anything, yet... what can I do about it? Thinking: I don't deserve to feel good in my home. I'm a victim.
SELF-LOVE
Happy, at peace, worthy... I'm able to see what stuff does or does not do for me. I respect my stuff and myself enough to give it another home if I don't need it.
COMPLIANCE
Anxious, on edge, dissatisfied, resentful... I keep stuff because others want me to. I put a partner's organizational preferences and needs over my own...
SELF-RESPECT
At peace, powerful... I advocate for myself when I need a change in my environment. I do what it takes to show I value my whole self.
CONTROL
Insecure, powerless, desperate... I must have my way. I manipulate by providing favors in order to feel loved or needed, or to then demand someone meet my needs.
COOPERATION
Serene, assertive, authentic... I find a middle ground that respects everyone involved. I stop trying to have my way at all costs.
AVOIDANCE
Restless, distant... I don't want to look at my problems. I convince myself everything is fine (even if I'm drowning in clutter). I blame my problems on others.
ACCEPTANCE
At peace, appreciative... I face my problems, ask for help when needed, set healthy boundaries with my stuff, prioritize myself over stuff, and aware of how stuff makes me feel—therefore able to act on it.
